My first experience with the cruelty of the Holocaust was through a book called "The Yellow Star". This book influenced my whole life a lot. I occasionly visit
these places to rmeind myself, that the nature of human beings is very fragile and the horror might happen again.
The entrance to Dachau near Munich. The lettering says: "Work makes (you) free".
The entrance to Gross Rosen near Wroclaw (the former Breslau).
The cremation in Gross Rosen burned about 40,000 people.
The cremation of Mittelbau-Dora.
The former cinema hall, that was used to imprison inmates.
The remains of a number on a house, where the inmates of the concentration camp Mittelbau-Dora were kept.
Somehow, nature is taking over this place again to bring peace.
Gross Rosen was a forced labour camp, where the inmates had to cut granite stones.
The labour was so hard, that many people died because of the labour conditions.
